Dibond Printing
Need a rigid printed sign for your business, premises or outdoor display? Printmonster provides Dibond printing for businesses, tradespeople and organisations looking for strong, smart looking signage that can be produced to suit their space and branding.
Based in Cannock, we work with customers throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands. Send us your size, artwork and where the sign will be used and we can help you decide whether Dibond is the right material for the job.
What is Dibond?
Dibond is an aluminium composite material, ACM, commonly used for rigid signage and display panels. Its construction makes it a useful choice when you need something more substantial than a lightweight temporary board.
Printed Dibond can be used for business branding, information, directions, shop signage and other fixed displays where a clean, rigid panel is required.
It is particularly useful when the signage needs to feel more permanent than a temporary promotional board.
If you are comparing several signage materials, our display signage range provides an overview of the different options available.
What can Dibond signs be used for?
Dibond printing can suit a wide range of commercial signage projects, including:
- Business signs
- Shop and premises signage
- Directional signs
- Branded wall panels
- Information boards
- Office and reception signage
- Exterior display panels
- Site identification signs
- Promotional panels intended for longer use
The best material will depend on where the sign is being fitted, its size, how it will be supported and the environment around it.
For retail premises and customer facing locations, you may also find our shop signage service useful when planning several different signs or graphics for the same premises.
When should you choose Dibond rather than Foamex or Correx?
Dibond, Foamex and Correx are all useful signage materials, but they suit different types of project.
Dibond is usually considered when a rigid, substantial panel is wanted for business signage or a display intended to remain in place for longer.
Foamex printing is commonly useful for lightweight rigid signs, indoor displays, wall mounted graphics and general business signage.
Correx printing is more commonly associated with lightweight temporary signage, events, site notices and short term applications.
You do not need to decide which board material you need before contacting us. Tell us where the sign is going, approximately how large it needs to be and what you want it to achieve. We can then discuss an appropriate option.
Dibond signs for shops, offices and commercial premises
A well planned sign should do more than fill a space. It should be easy to read, use appropriate branding and present the right information to the people who see it.
Dibond panels can be used for company names and logos, opening information, directions, branded exterior panels and signs around commercial premises.
Before artwork is finalised, think about viewing distance and the amount of information the sign needs to carry. A sign that will mainly be seen from across a car park needs a different layout from an information panel that people will read at close range.
Colour contrast, type size and the position of important information can therefore matter just as much as the material itself.
Planning your Dibond printing project
A few practical details will help us understand what you need.
When requesting a quote, it is useful to send:
- The required size or approximate dimensions
- The number of signs required
- Where the signs will be used
- Whether they will be indoors or outdoors
- Your artwork, logo or wording if available
- A photograph of the intended location where useful
- Any fitting or mounting requirements you already know about
- Your required timescale
Do not worry if you are unsure about the technical details. The purpose of this information is simply to help us understand the project and recommend a sensible way forward.
Artwork for Dibond signs
Clear artwork is particularly important for larger signs because logos, photographs and text may be reproduced at a much greater size than they appear on a computer screen.
If you already have print ready artwork, send it over for us to review.
If you have a logo, wording and an idea but not finished artwork, Printmonster can also help with suitable artwork and design support where required.
Where possible, supply original logo or artwork files rather than screenshots or small images taken from websites. This gives us more flexibility when preparing graphics for print.
Dibond printing in Cannock and the West Midlands
Printmonster is based in Cannock and works with businesses, tradespeople and organisations throughout Staffordshire and the wider West Midlands, including Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and surrounding areas.
Dibond is part of our wider signage and large format printing service, so we can also help where a project involves several types of printed display material rather than one sign in isolation.
For example, a premises branding project might combine rigid signs with window graphics, banners or other display print. You can explore the broader large format printing service if your project requires several printed elements.
Need help choosing the right sign material?
Dibond is not automatically the right choice for every sign.
The intended location, size, fixing method, length of use and surrounding conditions should all be considered before choosing the material.
For temporary signage, a lighter material may make more sense. For indoor displays, Foamex may be more appropriate. For flexible promotional signage, banner printing may be another option.
If you are unsure, send us the details rather than trying to choose from technical terminology alone.
Dibond Sign FAQ
What is Dibond?
Dibond is a type of aluminium composite sheet used for rigid signs and display panels. It is commonly selected for business signage where a firm, neat looking panel is required.
Is Dibond suitable for outdoor signs?
Dibond is commonly used for outdoor signage. However, the complete installation should be considered, including the size of the panel, its location, the fixing method and its exposure to the surrounding environment.
Is Dibond better than Foamex?
Neither material is automatically better. They are useful for different jobs. Dibond may suit a more substantial or longer term sign, while Foamex is a lightweight rigid material commonly used for indoor displays and general signage. Printmonster can advise based on the intended use.
What size Dibond signs can Printmonster produce?
Sign sizes should be discussed according to the project, material requirements, artwork and how the panel will be installed. Send us the dimensions you have in mind and we can advise.
Do I need finished artwork?
No. If you have finished artwork, send it over for checking. If you have a logo, wording or an idea but need help preparing the design, ask the Printmonster team about artwork support.
How long will my Dibond signs take to produce?
Production time depends on the project, quantity, artwork and current workload. Tell us when you need the signs when requesting your quote so we can discuss the available options.
